While we were visiting chateaueagle last weekend we stole away to sneak a peek at the château's restaurant Le Coq d'Or. We actually experienced their menu this last Valentines Day when they turned the large dining halls pink. The food was remarkable. See #chateauhellomeridian for more details on that event. But we're still wanting to have a cozy dinner in their regular seating area. Our vote is the hellomeridian Christmas party. Look at this room! We call this a: "guaranteed successful date venue". One of the reasons the food is so exquisite is they actually grow much of the food on site. The château has its own vineyard and gardens where they produce local food organically. We took a little tour and tried some of their freshly picked apricots and strawberries. Sometimes you have to be reminded of the taste of fruit still warm from the sun.
