SPOTLIGHT: 𝗬𝗲𝗷𝗮 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗻 ‘𝟭𝟲 In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth we are celebrating some of the trailblazing Black athletes to play for DWRC throughout the years! Yeja is a 2015 Ivy Champion, 3x usarugby All-American, and 2016 Deb Archambault ‘85 Most Valuable Player. They played prop, flank & 8 and co-captained the team in its inaugural year as a ncaawrugby varsity program. An unstoppable ball carrier, a constant turn-over threat at the breakdown, and an empathetic leader — Yej led from the front. They studied Sociology and Women, Gender & Sexualities Studies and was awarded both the Hannah T. Croasdale Senior Class Prize & Henry Weiss ‘60 Award from the College. Yeja now lives in Boston, working as a People Ops Associate for Own Up weareownup, playing for beantownrfc, and serving as an ambassador for athleteally!
