I want to inform you that I got food poisoning and was up most of the night with vomiting and diarrhea,” reads one of the thousands of food-related complaints received by Amtrak in 2023.⁠ ⁠ Of the nearly 10,000 customer complaints filed last year, nearly 3,000 were related to its dining service. ⁠ ⁠ Because no one wants to experience the onset of diarrhea and vomiting in the Northeast Regional, it’s important to note that the 54 food poisoning complaints in 2023 accounted for just 0.00019% of all riders last year.
