True Athlete Performance
#WarmUpWednesday
The purpose of your warm-up or movement prep is to increase your core temperature, activate the muscles you’ll need for your workout, and prep the nervous system (the cells and nerves that carry messages from your brain to your muscles). All of these things can help you to be stronger, faster, and more powerful during the actual workout portion of your workout.
Here's some movements to add to your routine today:
Toe Touch: You will feel the tension in the calf behind the knee, in the hamstrings and possibly in the lower back.
Ankle Cradle: You should feel an excellent stretch through the glutes and piriformis.
Skip: This drill teaches an athlete to keep the three points of flexion that are crucial in sprinting: the ankle, knee, and hip.
