Last year, at this time, I was hospitalized due to mental illness. There were so many things going through my mind then, and it was hard to feel God’s goodness. I knew all the things that people say to someone when they are struggling, and since that was my job, it felt meaningless when others reciprocated it. I was ashamed and embarrassed but also frustrated with God. How could he allow this to happen to someone who has dedicated to serving others just as he did? After 15 days inpatient and 8 weeks of outpatient, my heart was open to see where God was and what he was up too. This was the hardest thing I had done in my life; however, God was with me the whole time. Through a few amazing people, God made himself known. Text messages, phone calls, home cooked meals, gift cards, babysitting my son, showing up for my husband, and coming to visit me in the hospital- God sent me hope.
