The 2022 Portland Track Festival is in the books. What makes a great meet is the people who infuse meaning into it. The fans treating it as a festival that happens but once a year, the athletes valuing a heightened performance in front of the crowds, the meet organization working to make sure that there is an air of importance that cloaks the stadium, preparing the atmosphere for the electric moments that athletes will bring. The Portland Track Festival is the people’s meet. Wins matter because the way in which athletes uniquely challenge each other matters.
