During the Rest Day of the Olympic Trials, we staged a meet for international athletes called:
The McKenzie International
We held the meet at the McKenzie Community Track in the McKenzie River Valley, which had been devastated by the Holiday Farm Fire last Fall. The meet drew a crowd to the rebuilding community nestled in one of the most picturesque track locations on the planet and produced 3 Olympic qualifying efforts and a handful of PRs and gutsy efforts.
Through the help of on_running, naz_elite, tracklandia’s pay per view efforts- and viewers like you, we were able to contribute $3,000 to the rebuilding efforts of the community.
Sport has meaning and can be a powerful force for good.
Thank you to all the athletes who competed and fans who either lined the track or tuned in online. You gave hope and determination to a community needing the support to reestablish themselves and know that their efforts are worthwhile.
To the people of McKenzie, Blue River and Vida-
Thank...
