Lauren Ryan flew back to Tracklandia to take her shot at the 5000m standard. Coming on the heels of breakthrough performances of 15:22 and 15:26 within a week in the Electric Forest, she showed and showed again that she’s a force to be reckoned with.
In a small field convening to work together, Ryan, Carmela Cardama Baez and Tori Gerlach accompanied by Alexa Efraimson followed Jess Hull for 3000m at 15:10 pace. Ryan, pulling away tried hard to stay on pace but ultimately drifted. Although the time was not what she wanted, anyone who witnessed saw the promise of great things on the horizon. Taking the win on the McKenzie, she showed that she has the grit and determination to scare the best for years to come…
and we hope she scares them in the Landia over and over again.
The Aussies showed out on an evening to remember.
