In a race billed as a title fight between two Minnesota titans of the track: Ben Blankenship and Hassan Mead, Blankenship took the reigns of the Land O Lakes 3000m in the closing stages and churned to victory in a Space Race record of 7:50.13.
Behind Blankenship, a battle shaped up for second place, ultimately being won by club_northwest_running’s Thomas Anderson who lowered his best time from 8:03 to 7:55.99 on a cool August night, gliding around the oval like butter in a hot skillet.
