President John L. Lahey will retire after 31 years and 3 months of serving the Quinnipiac community on Saturday, June 30. In that time, we have grown from a small community of Braves to an international pack of Bobcats. The small commuter college he became president of in 1987 was fighting for its very survival — a downward spiral he quickly corrected. Throughout the past 3 decades, Quinnipiac has become a national leader in academics, athletics, polling and the study of the Irish Famine. We have grown from 2,200 students on 1 campus to more than 10,220 students on 3 campuses and throughout our World-Sized Classroom, with students studying as part of #QUinLA and in opportunities in more than two dozen countries around the world. He has grown our endowment from $3 million to more than $529 million, grown our full-time faculty from 130 to 420, launched 6 schools — and signed the degrees of more than 40,000 alumni!
