The series win proved vital, as it clinched second place and a double bye for FIU in the C-USA Championship. In the opener, Saile tossed her second straight one-hit shutout, striking out eight in a complete-game effort. In game two, the freshman was called upon to close out the game, which she did effortlessly, striking out the side in the process. In the series finale, Saile hurled another gem, allowing just one run in another complete-game victory. Over the weekend, the rookie lowered her league-best ERA to 1.46 and also tied the FIU record with her eighth shutout.
