How very European of us to have a coach biking alongside athletes mid-workout! Yesterday was 5-6 miles of tempo work for the crew. Coach Nohilly pulled up to each group to gauge the effort and to remind everyone not to crossover their threshold. It’s about running hard, but staying in that zone where it’s comfortably difficult. You can utter out a quick sentence, but there’s no conversation. Ideally at the end, athletes walk away saying, ‘I could have kept going a while longer!’ And that’s how you know the objective of the workout was achieved.
