Described by author Pat Conroy as "a goddess who walks upon the earth", Barbra Streisand turns 80 today.⁠ A genuine icon, the American actress and singer is one of the few recipients of an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award - in some instances, several of each. In 1983, Streisand became the first woman to win Best Director at the Golden Globes, for the film Yentl.
