February is LGBT+ History Month in the UK, which this year explores the theme of Politics in Art: 'The Arc is Long'. The works of English installation artist and filmmaker Isaac Julien explore storytelling, archive materials and identity. His 1989 film 'Looking for Langston' both chronicles and reimagines the Black gay experience in the historic moment of the Harlem Renaissance. A graduate of London's Saint Martin's School of Art, Julien was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2017.
