Picturing Black History is an ongoing collaborative effort between originsosu and gettyarchive that seeks to uncover untold stories and rarely seen images of the Black experience; providing new context around culturally significant moments by bringing them into the light and into view.⁠ Our first featured piece of 2022, ‘Martin Delany, Unapologetic African’, details the life of 19th century abolitionist, physician, soldier, and journalist, Martin Robison Delany.
