Easy days easy. Hard days hard. We try to meet as a team as often as possible and that includes maintenance runs, albeit often via an unofficial group text. Part of the reason why, in addition to being more fun, is that the intensity of training needs a rest much like our bodies do. If our history has shown us anything, it’s that solo runs have a tendency to be fast runs. Maybe it’s boredom, maybe it’s the countdown of GPS splits or perhaps it’s the lack of teammates asking you to stop one stepping. Whatever the reason, an added benefit of training partners is not only to push the pace, but to occasionally help you dial it back. A carefree conversation about the latest Netflix show or college story can lull the tempo so that we can recover as required. Running slow is a learned skill — Just as long as the discussion doesn’t turn to upcoming races! #Photo:jkh_photo|runthelens 🗽🔵💣
