Former prisoners of Bergen-Belsen suffering from typhus and starvation, photographed after the liberation of the concentration camp on 15 April 1945.
The site of thousands of deaths between 1940 - 1945, it was reported that Canadian and British soldiers discovered 60,000 prisoners upon entering the camp. 13,000 corpses had been left in the open.
Images from inside Bergen-Belsen revealed what unimaginable horror had taken place. Serving as testimony and memorial, they are amongst the most important photographs of the twentieth century.
