Katherine Johnson, a pioneering #NASA mathematician who broke gender and racial barriers during her historic career, has died at the age of 101. Johnson played an integral yet unsung role in many early, critical successes of the U.S. space program. She was also the main subject of the 2016 film Hidden Figures, which finally chronicled her ground-breaking early career.
