The fairest of them all: Audrey Hepburn poses in a lace costume and hat with taffeta roses, designed by Cecil Beaton for the Broadway musical My Fair Lady. The 1964 cinema adaptation was released fifty five years ago today, winning the photographer and designer an Oscar for his part in the film’s art direction. Audrey meanwhile, had her own Eliza Doolittle moment; her singing was eventually dubbed with the voice of Marni Nixon. The soprano and ghost singer can also be heard emanating from Natalie Wood in ‘West Side Story’. 📷: Cecil Beaton/Condé Nast via Getty Images | 1963 | gettyarchive #myfairlady #audreyhepburn #cecilbeaton #marninixon #cinemahistory #moviehistory #hollywoodmusical #1964 #onthisday #broadwaymusical #movieclassic #hollywoodicon #onthisdayinhistory #hollywoodhistory #archivephoto #photoarchive #nostalgia #gettyarchive #condenast #fashionhistory #gettyimages
