“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." A century on from his birth, the life of #JackieRobinson continues to reverberate. The first African-American to play #MajorLeagueBaseball in the modern era, it was only on April 15, 1947 that he was able to join the nation’s oldest professional sports league, starting for the #BrooklynDodgers. Since 2004, the #NLB have celebrated Robinson on that same date, with each player of every team wearing the number 42 uniform he made famous.
