#IndianTreasures is a new exhibition gettyimagesgallery showcasing historical and rarely seen photography of India. Much of the material was sourced from Getty Images Vintage Room including four large period albums as well as dozens of vintage large format glass plate negatives and albumen prints. Advances in photographic equipment and chemistry throughout the later 19th century led to an explosion of amateur photographic societies in urban centers around the globe.
