The scene was incredibly surreal and felt more like a movie set than an actual real town. Because of security concerns I gave myself 10 minutes on the ground shooting the fires before getting back in the car and leaving. Shortly after I started shooting, this boy cycled towards me, then stopped briefly and watched me. He seemed far more interested in what I was doing than the fire raging behind him and stared quite intently at me while I took his picture. After a few seconds he cycled off.
