‘I used to hear that the first casualty of a war or crisis is Truth. I am not totally in agreement. I think that the very first ones are the nuances and details. The refugee crisis of the last 3 years has been over documented. I have been working during rescue missions off the Libyan coast, in Serbia and Croatia covering the Balkan route and in Sweden, documenting how they are living at the end of the road. I can say by far that this is my favorite frame. It is just a group of young people from Syria having fun as they celebrate a fake wedding waiting at the border between Serbia and Croatia. They, as all the rest, are making a dangerous trip but it is not all about tears, fear and sadness. There are also moments, many moments, of fun, love and tenderness.
