"I had been wandering around the city for a few hours in the morning and headed up to #CentralPark around noon to check out a few different spots that usually produce a few good snow pictures. When it #snows in New York it is a must to take a walk through the park. Wandering around I was lamenting to myself that I arrived much too late in the day and was having absolutely no luck finding someone with a red umbrella. In the snow everything grays out in pictures so finding people with a red coat or red umbrella is a must. The usual spot to go is 'The Mall' which by noon was far too crowded to work as a picture. Just as a left there and headed down a walkway I spotted a woman standing in a field with a glorious red umbrella and a group of trees on both sides of her. Just like that I had the picture I went to the park to take. That is what photography in New York is about, turn a corner and you never know what you will find." - garyhershorn | February 9, 2017 | #GettyImagesNews
