"I had taken off in the early morning with a crew of federal agents from U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Texas' Rio Grande Valley. We were flying in a #Huey, which is a Vietnam-era helicopter, and they had taken the doors off so they could get better visibility on smugglers and undocumented immigrants coming from Mexico across the Rio Grande. To get the best view, I took the 'hell hole,' which is a seat in the far back of the aircraft, previously used for the door gunner. They call it the hell hole because the winds whip in to that spot from the air rushing by and the downdraft from the spinning blades above. In the past, it was also the most dangerous spot because the enemy would aim for the door gunner. In my case, I was just cold in that early morning chill, blasting me like a hurricane.
