“I had spent the morning out looking for some cold weather pictures in Scotland’s highest village of Wanlockhead. With the weather being so crisp and clear I decided to drive a little further south to Gretna in anticipation of viewing some starlings. I arrived in Gretna around 3pm and started asking some locals if they had seen any movement with the #starlings this week. With a tip from a van driver I headed to a possible spot and watched for them gathering and sure enough around 4pm small groups started to head east toward a roosting spot not far from the M74.
