The "I Love Lucy" show premiered on CBS in 1951 and spent four of its six prime-time seasons as the highest rated series on television. Starring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance and William Frawley, the show follows the antics of Lucy Ricardo as she attempts to breakaway from domestic life to join her husband in show business. The show was the first television series to use a three-camera format and was filmed in front of a live audience.
