Events were held at Issy Kul, a high altitude lake where a new hippodrome has been built, and Krychyn Gorge, a mountain pasture where several hundred yurts were pitched. The jailoo (mountain pasture) was at an altitude of 2000m, 15km off the Cholpon Ata road.
