This image, from Jonathan's project about migrants in Johannesburg's abandoned downtown buildings, was presented at this week's 28th Visa Pour l’Image photojournalism festival. Many projects at the festival highlighted European immigration, but Jonathan's project showed the other side of the equation. "At a time when the world’s attention is directed towards the thousands of African migrants trying to make their way north to reach the shores of Europe," says Jonathan, "little attention is given to the fact that thousands of African migrants are looking south, and arriving in Johannesburg, one of Africa’s most affluent cities."
