BUT using a painter's pole is kind of unwieldy. It's really heavy and somewhat wobbly, so you'll want to use a camera with really good built-in stabilization. I used this because I wanted to get really high (it's a 30 ft pole). It folds down to 6 ft, so plan accordingly.
The drone pole I actually use more often though is the insta360 "Extended Edition Selfie Stick". It only goes 10 ft high, but it's super lightweight and portable (fits in my backpack) and is reasonably priced at $70 as well.
The professional drone pole that costs $1000 is Photomast, 30 ft and I've heard it's excellent but I've never tried it myself!
