#ThisIsGrassroots: “We always ask that our coaches bring a collection of books to every tournament. Bus rides from Canada across the US are long so we like to make sure our kids are using their time to better themselves in their everyday life. Don’t get me wrong, it can get incredibly rowdy at times but we're always having fun. You can't get that on an airplane. Taking the bus is the only way for our 15s, 16s, and 17s to all travel together. We travel that way so they get to know and get comfortable with one another. We take pride in the togetherness that runs through our program and the culture that is created because of it. In the future it’s extremely important that we continue the bus rides. The players are here to play for scholarships but at the end of the day they need to take something away from this that's bigger than basketball and I think the long road trips will be something they’ll remember for a lifetime.” - Shane James (canada_elite)
