#ThisIsGrassroots: “I spent 9 years in the military -- 4 years in mechanized infantry then 5 years in the Army National Guard. Traveling with the military really broadened my horizons. Going to different places and seeing how people live throughout the country other than where I’m from in Baton Rouge was eye-opening -- and the eye is the key to everything. When you’re able see something first hand, you can visualize yourself there, and the same goes with these players. When these guys see top-tier college coaches and photographers and film cameras, they can envision themselves in those scenarios playing at the next level. The military also taught me some core principles that we’ve tried to incorporate in our program. Things like commitment, accountability, and a sense of love and dependability are the standard for our program.
