Dear Howard University Community: The PEPCO power outage that is affecting customers in the NW District persists. Thousands of customers remain without power, including Howard University. The main campus & dining facilities are without power until PEPCO can improve its supply. . . The hospital is currently running on full power and providing all services. However, we are working to resolve electrical issues with the HUH chiller plant that resulted from today’s outage. Emergency generators are on standby in the event that there is another outage. . . We are working directly with PEPCO technicians to restore power to campus. Due to the evolving nature of the repairs, PEPCO has not communicated an immediate solution to the substation failure or a timeline for restoration of power. . .
