Meet our #CoJMCAlumni feature, Mekita Rivas! Mekita, a 2012 journalism grad from Lincoln, currently works as a fashion news writer for Teen Vogue! She is also a contributing writer at The Washington Post, Glamour, New York Magazine, Architectural Digest and others. She lives in Washington, D.C., and says she credits her experience at the #CoJMC for teaching her the "nuts and bolts" of storytelling. "I've always known that I wanted to be a writer, but at the J-School I learned how to approach my craft in a tactical way,"" she said. ""I learned the science behind the story." Mekita also worked at the Daily Nebraskan in undergrad, where she wrote a fashion column, which solidified her love for all things style.
