I still see so much division in hip hop when it comes accepting the full beauty of the genre. Almost anytime I talk to somebody who lived through the 90s, I get told todays rappers can’t rap, they don’t care about the art, etc. What I say back is, have they heard these albums and MCs on the first slide. If theres one thing 2000 by joeybadass showed its that hip hop still has so many elite MCs and this generation should be respected for that.
