Don’t let the weather put a damper on your travel plans! Here’s some tips for enjoying the park in all kinds of weather: ☁️ Come prepared! Bring warm, synthetic layers and high-quality rain gear (including waterproof footwear), plenty of snacks and water, and sun protection. Weather changes fast in Alaska, and its unpredictable! ☁️ If you need a break from the rain, wind or heat, consider exploring the great indoors at our Visitor Centers in Copper Center, Slana, Chitina and Kennecott, as well as the historical exhibits in Kennecott. ☁️ Find new ways to appreciate the beauty of this place in any conditions: notice how grey skies affect the blue colors of a glacier, how raindrops collect on the wildflowers, or how the fog settles on the mountains. No matter the weather, Wrangell-St. Elias has something unique to offer every visitor. Go out and find it!
