**chemically imbalanced** People are usually shocked when I tell them I take an antidepressant/anxiety medication called Lexapro every morning. It’s probably confusing since my life seems really great and effortless. Although I have no complaints, I’ve had my fair share of hardship, trauma, and setbacks. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve done extensive therapy and that I take medication daily. In fact, I’m proud of myself for confronting my trauma head on. I hope we stop treating mental health like it’s a shameful topic that must be avoided.
For the past few years I’ve spoken on my page a lot about my experience with therapy and EMDR because I want all of us to feel more comfortable talking about it. I want us to be proud that we’re breaking generational cycles and healing ancestral trauma. When I saw this t-shirt at shopjzd I was so excited to buy it and support a Latina owned business promoting mental health awareness. 🫶🏼 Stay tuned for a special episode of whatyoudontsee.thepodc...
