Some of the men who forever changed the way we enjoy the mountains today. The 10th Mountain Division was formed as a way to assist the Italians in the Alps during WWII. A group of mountaineers trained to become mountain soldiers, right here in our own backyard at Camp Hale. You can still visit the places they skinned mountains with their 90lb rucksacks and learned to survive brutal winter conditions. Many went on to open up ski schools, resorts, and other aspects of the ski industry that are still around today!
