Have you been clicking “refresh” on your tracking number lately? If so, you’re not the only one experiencing a delay when it comes to things sent through the United States Postal Service (USPS). US Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, both Democrats serving Virginia, pressed the issue when the Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center received hundreds of colon cancer test samples after lengthy delivery delays. Valid samples last 15 days, but a report that came to light in late January noted that some tests dated as far back as mid-2023. Out of the 870 samples that arrived late, an estimated 450 results were no longer viable. The senators, along with a group of five bipartisan US representatives from the commonwealth, wrote a joint letter expressing their concerns to US Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and USPS Virginia District Manager Gerald Roane.
