In almost thirty years, the Electoral Commission have only brough nine successful convictions for postal vote fraud. Despite the low rates of detected voter fraud, however, it has long been suggested that malicious actors have been unduly influencing the outcomes of our elections both here in the UK and abroad. With research suggesting that two in five British adults have election fraud issues, it is clear that the significant concerns of a sizable proportion of the electorate are not being addressed. Even the Electoral Commission themselves admitted that police data "may not be a complete record of all activity which could involve electoral fraud offences". The truth is this; if almost half of voters don’t believe that the voting process is democratic, it is flawed.
