The “Illicit ⁦‪#Captagon‬⁩ Trafficking Suppression Act” has been signed into law by President Biden today. It passed the Senate yesterday with an overwhelming bipartisan majority of 79-18 as part of a fast-tracked national security supplemental bill and signed by President Biden. This is a significant step towards ⁦‪#Accountability‬⁩ and hindering and dismantling ⁦‪#Assad‬⁩’s illicit drug trade in ⁦‪#Syria‬⁩ and the ⁦‪#MiddleEast hurting Syrians and civilians in the Middle East and in Europe‬⁩. The bill, also known as ‘Captagon II,’ was a product of ⁦‪RepFrenchHill‬⁩’s leadership and our work in advocacy efforts.
