The University of Iowa is where you go when you want to be a part of something bigger than yourself. iowahoops freshman Joe Wieskamp recently made this 89-year-old Hawkeye fan's year. After receiving a message on Facebook from the woman's granddaughter, a stranger to Joe, Wieskamp made a surprise trip to the hospital to visit her. "You will never, probably, understand the joy in her heart and the thanks that my family and I have for you! In Iowa.....THIS is how we do it!" later wrote the granddaughter.
