Headshots, they are easy yet complicated... • When it comes to lighting, headshots can be the easiest thing to shoot. In fact, most photogs will tell you that if you are just starting in studio, take headshots first then move up. It’s just one light and maybe a reflector. • Here I used an 80” umbrella with a diffusion sock and a v-flat (really big bounce card). Easy set up! 👍 • What’s complicated is finding the right position and directing your client or model to pose that best flatters themselves. • I learned a few tips from Allee (thanks alleesutton) that helped me give some direction to my model. I had Zalaiya first sit directly facing the camera. Then we went through some slight head turns, smiles, no smiles and laughing (“pretend like your eating and apple, now cough” - Allee). I showed her the pictures and we determined that this was her best side and just a simple smile was her favorite. • This one was a WINNER! ♥️ • P.S. zalaiyanefwani is leaving to pursue her dreams of modeli...
