Our last senior shoutout is for Sydney Wenstrom - as written by sophomore Halye Barlow 🥰 When you think of Sydney, you can’t help but think of her fire. 🔥 She stands up for what she believes in, and uses that fire to make a difference. As bright as that fire is, she also has a beautiful, soft heart. When something goes wrong in my life, Sydney has been one of the first people to reach out and check in. She has had my back through thick and thin, as well as the backs of her teammates. Syd is so intelligent, and uses that intelligence to look at new angles to bring about change. The first time I really got to know her was by rowing a pair with her last year. As a freshman at the time I was nervous to be with a junior, but she was so kind and so patient. Syd used her words to encourage me, and her actions helped to guide and lift me up. Later that year we got to be roommates at several races, and we always had good conversations.
