From Monday to Thursday, the Armenian Students Association, or ASA, has organized a variety of cultural and commemorative events including a dance workshop, a candlelight vigil to honor the 1.5 million Armenians who died during the Armenian Genocide between 1915 and 1923 and a movie screening to educate attendees on the history of Artsakh. ASA is also selling Gata, an Armenian baked good, in a fundraiser to support Armenian veterans through the Armenian Wounded Heroes Project. Members will also be staffing an information booth 24/7 throughout the week. The booth is complemented by a handcrafted replica of Armenia’s Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Monument, a famous monument memorializing the lives lost in the genocide.
