Meet Officer Harris, he’s been with our agency for two and a half years but is the newest member of our Community Resource Unit, so of course we had to make him do a ridiculous #FirstDayOfSummer photo. Here are some water safety tips to keep in mind all year long: BE INFORMED: • Drowning is a quick and silent killer. • Backyard pools/spas need fences and alarms. • Commonly used floaties are not lifesaving devices. • Alcohol and water activities are a bad mix. BE ALERT: • Danger zones: bathtubs, buckets, toilets, lakes, pools and spas. • Visual supervision is a must. Don’t be distracted while kids are in the water. • Reach and throw – Don’t go! • Summer sun, water fun, if trouble comes, call 9-1-1.
