VCOP Spotlight March 2022 CARL MOORE In 1991, Bellville, Illinois native Carl Moore retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service maintaining main frame computers. He then spent time with a housing maintenance company and the Davidson County (Tennessee) Sheriff’s Department. When he moved to Florida in 2017 (to retire again), one of his cousins living in Palm Bay encouraged Carl to check out the VCOP program. Turns out Carl loves the work of the VCOPs, most especially the fact that they take a load off officers so they can be out in the community doing their police work. Carl is busy as one of the in-vehicle VCOP patrol trainers, but he really enjoys his role as a courier. Courier duties include delivering the department’s electronic equipment to the maintenance facility in Rockledge and legal documents to the appropriate county and state offices.
