After 31 years of service, Chief Nelson Moya has announced his retirement from the Palm Bay Police Department. Chief Moya has accepted a position in Long Island, New York and will begin his new job in March. Deputy Chief Mario Augello will serve as Acting Chief upon Moya’s separation. The City of Palm Bay wishes Chief Moya well in his future endeavors, both personally and professionally. His contributions to the Palm Bay Police Department have been significant and marked by a commitment to excellence and professionalism. Chief Moya’s absence will be acutely felt by his colleagues and the greater Palm Bay community. The City of Palm Bay will conduct a competitive search for the next Police Chief.
