VCOP Spotlight Janaury 2022 TONY ANTONUCCIO Tony began his career as a clerical support staff member to an Air Force squadron based in Virginia. When he was discharged after 2 years, he took a job as a financial manager in a large corporation in Massachusetts. Eventually a corporate takeover afforded Tony an early retirement offer at age 57, and he knew a good deal when he saw one. By 1995 he and his wife had moved to Florida. Two years later he was recruited to be a VCOP. And at 86 years old, he’s still going strong!!!! Tony says he’s always been interested in “police things” and he’s done a little bit of everything as a VCOP. He remembers serving at the Front Desk when it was just a small desk with an emergency button in the middle of the lobby, patrolling shopping center parking lots at the holidays, doing house checks, traffic control, and providing courier service.
