It's #NationalWomensSmallBusinessMonth and we can't think of a more amazing woman to highlight than our very own founder, itspaulana! Learning how to swim in 2009 at CUNY York College by her swim coaches, she built her love for swimming and teaching others how to conquer their fears of swimming. For over a decade, Paulana has been working with swim clubs, teams, and gyms sharing her love of swimming and community with her students. Realizing the lack of diversity in the aquatics world after taking an American Red Cross instructor certification course, Paulana created Black People Will Swim, where she’s not only teaching Black people and people of color how to swim, but is providing access to opportunities through scholarship programs for student athletes.
